Think of crepes served in cobbled streets, coffees and intellectual discussion wafting from chic cafes, or facades perfect for OOTD backgrounds; France, undeniably, is one of the most traveled countries in the world. Famed for its picturesque sceneries and alluring culture. However, it is also one of the most expensive destinations to go to; And a thrifty millennial (like me) just can't right now
Cue in, Petite France. Petite France which is located in Gapyeong County in South Korea is a beacon for those who dreams of the French Aesthetic experience but who are a bit short on the budget . Given various Manila to Seoul (vis-a-vis) fare promos, traveling there is not that money-draining.

Strangely, Petite France was commissioned by an Italian guy. An ode to Antoine de Saint-Exupery's The Little Prince. Indeed, characters from the classic story are prominently displayed in each corner of key attractions. Quaint and vibrant houses are built in the area making it uniquely distinguishable from other tourist spots in Seoul. They also have street performances to complete the French experience package. Sadly, due to time constraints we weren't able to watch one. But hey, more reason to come back to this place! Tourists who visit Nami Island may include this in their itinerary.

The houses are not just gorgeous backdrops for your gram. You can actually go inside and enjoy various exhibits such are: a Model of a French House (where a wall is ornamented by beautiful plates, talk about tita levels), antique museum, art galleries, a clocktower, an Orgel (music box) house, photo studios, cafes, souvenir shop, and... ok i know you're already hyped up so let's not spoil anymore.😜

One more thing to get excited about this place is the specific location where it was built. Like the many famed and awe-inducing lakes of France, Petite France is near Cheongpyeong Lake. If you concentrate enough, you can almost imagine you're at Lake Annecy. There's a pathway leading to a hilltop for a spectacular view of the lake. It's quite a hike but it's worth it.

Ticket Prices for this attraction are: Adults KRW 10,000, Teenagers KRW 8,000, Children KRW 6,000, Senior Citizens KRW 8,0000. They're operational everyday, even on holidays.*
Here are some transport suggestions you may consider:
1.Via train & Bus: You can take the subway or ITX to CheongPyeong station (100-120 minutes). Get off at exit 2 and go to Bus stop. Take a city bus to Petite France (30-40 minutes). The bus stop is just a short walk. You can download Naver Map for more detailed directions. Google Maps is not that helpful here.
2. Via Gapyeong Circle Bus Ride: You can take the subway or ITX to Cheongpyeong Station(100~120 minutes). Get off at exit 2 and go to the Bus stop and pay 6,000KRW(Child 3,000KRW) for the Circle bus ride.
